What Have We Been Up To In Class
This second week has flown by! We continued our alphabet this week learning what each letter looks like, sounds like, and talked about what words begin with that letter. This week we have talked about F through I. We have also been working on our numbers in math by talking about the numbers 1 through 10. We have been practicing writing the number, counting it, drawing that amount of items. The other big thing we have been working on is making those green choices! They are loving talking about what they are doing right and being able to choose how their day will go. Thanks for your support at home for their behavior here at school! Behavior Charts The weekly behavior charts should have come home in your child’s folder everyday this week. Once you look at it, please place it back inside their folder for the next day. We use the same chart all week long. Once the week has ended, you are more than welcome to take that week’s chart out. Math We will be starting our math curriculum next week! When the math papers come home, you may see homework attached. You do not have to complete this, and if you choose to, you do not have to send it back to me. It is up to you! Let me know any questions you have with that! Labor Day Weekend Reminder, there will be no school this Friday, August 30th, and also no school next Monday, September 2nd. Enjoy your Labor Day weekend! Snack Next Week Monday- No School Tuesday- Brynlee Wednesday- Da’ Laiya Thursday- Harleigh Friday- Sam Upcoming Events August 30- No School September 2- No School

We have had a great first week in Kindergarten!
Parent Volunteers I sent home alphabet books to fold and staple earlier this week. If you signed up on your volunteer form to have things sent home, make sure to look in your child’s backpack! These will need to be done as quickly as possible and just sent back when completed. Thank you so much for being willing to help! It is a HUGE help to me! Rest Time Blankets If you sent a blanket or towel for rest time, I will be sending those home on Fridays to wash. Please send them back on the following Monday so they will have something the next week to lay on. Kindergarten Kids I sent home a paper today labeled “Kindergarten Kids”. Please fill this out, add a recent picture of your child, and send it back into me by next week. I would love to get to know a little more about each student. We usually display these in the hallway for fun, too! Behavior Next week we will be beginning our behavior charts! I sent home a detailed note today in their folders so you have a better idea of what to expect. Be on the lookout for those today, and the charts to be in their folders everyday next week. P.E. Day We have P.E. every Wednesday and Extra P.E. every other Tuesday. I would suggest having your child wear tennis shoes on both of these days. Snack Next Week Monday- Mitchell Tuesday- Emily Wednesday- Lane Thursday- Parker Friday- NO SCHOOL Upcoming Events August 30- No School September 2- No School We have had an absolute blast getting to know one another these last two days! Thank you for sharing your children with me this year!
Hopefully once a week I will be updating the blog with upcoming dates and relevant information. It just helps me to have one place with all the information I need to get to you! Going Home Tags You have probably noticed your child coming home with a necklace marking how they get home-either a car, Tiger Tales, or bus. These are very important the first few weeks of school for our little ones. We need to be able to quickly identify where they are supposed to be to get them home safely. If you would, please send those back everyday. If not, I am trying to remake them and get them new ones and it becomes quite a mess at the end of our day. Thank you in advance for your help in this! Folders I have started to send each child home with an orange take home folder. This folder will be sent home every night with information in it. It would be a good practice to check this, and place it back in their backpack every night. In the morning they will get their folder out, so this would be a great place to send in notes, forms, lunch money, etc. Eventually, this will be where their behavior is marked. More on that later! Snack Today, in the orange take home folder, I placed a snack calendar for the month of August. Only 9 students got this month’s calendar because we only have that many days left. If you did not receive a calendar, your child does not have snack this month. For snack, your child can bring their item on that day to share with the class. I have 17 students, so please provide at least that amount of whatever you bring. Good snack items would be things like goldfish, pretzels, bananas, crackers, cheeze-its, etc. Everything must be store bought/pre-packaged and nothing can be homemade for safety reasons. I myself have a severe allergy to all kinds of nuts so if you send anything containing them, they will not be able to be passed out. On your child’s birthday, they are allowed to bring a special snack. That is up to you and them to decide. Please bring things that are easily distributed to a large amount of students. Things that usually work well are cupcakes, or cookies. Let me know if you ever have any clarifying questions about snack! I am here to help! Snack Next Week Monday- Syler Tuesday- Levi Wednesday- Enola Thursday- Braiden Friday- Summer Hello there! I cannot believe it is already time to start a new school year! I have been busily preparing our classroom and working to ensure we will have a successful start to what is sure to be a great year! I cannot wait to meet each and every one of you and your students. Happy New School Year to us!
